MEMON COLLEGE CELEBRATES A DECADE OF QUALITY EDUCATION

On 13th March 2010, the Memon College held its bi-annual commencement ceremony where it awarded its top performing students’ awards and tokens. Within the Commencement ceremony, the Memon College also marked completion of its decade of existence by having a cake cutting ceremony. Sited in Memon Villa, off Maalim Juma Road, the Memon College opened its doors for the first time in 1999. It was the first College in Coast Province to offer the ACCA programme. Today, Memon College offers courses in Information Technology, Associate of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), Association of Business Executives (ABE) Business Management, Early Childhood Teachers Training (ECTT) and the recently introduced Business Information Systems (BIS) of ABE curriculum and Domestic Arts Programme ( Henna Application). The administrator Mrs Nashina Khan says that they are also talking to KASNEB, to get affiliation for the Information Communication Technology Technicians (ICTT) and Certified Information Communication Technologists (CICT) courses, which the College is planning to introduce by 2nd Semester 2010. The top performers awarded at the ceremony were Kulthum Abdi for Best Overall student and Warda Rashid was the Best Academic Student in the ECTT dept. In ABE, the Best Academic student was Ms Amina Admani and Best Overall was Mr Joseph Gachuhi. In ACCA, Ms Munazzam Kadernani was awarded for becoming an affiliate, qualifying without re-sitting a single paper. In Part two ACCA, the best overall student was Ms Asiya Harunany and in Part one was Mrs Meimuna Harunani. Congratulations to all the students on their success.
